TM STEERING SYSTEM

Wills Ridley continue their policy of constant product improvement with the introduction of `smart relays`. These electronic components provide greater reliability and more versatility as they can be programmed to perform an almost endless series of tasks.

The TM Starters are matched with the TM Steering System which includes a Jog Lever which operates both Non Follow Up and Full Follow Up Steering Systems. It also allows the use of a gear pumps and ordinary Solenoids to be soft controlled to reduce hydraulic noise. Where twin rudders do not have a mechanical link, and where any autopilot is fitted, Wills Ridley Ltd., together with their associate company Vaughan Industries Ltd., have introduced, a feature which enables rudders to be controlled independently without using multi non follow up jog levers. All makes and models of Autopilots can be used as their signals are routed through the Steering Controls, This system provides a high level of synchronisation by the use of programmable PLC units.
SIMRAD SUPER YACHT AUTOPILOTS
Wills Ridley Steering Systems are designed to integrate with Simrad Autopilots and to maximize operation of the steering function.

“MINI-TURN” RUDDERS

.

Now 32 vessels with single or twin propellers are fitted with `Mini-Turn` Rudders. They are all reporting that their steering has vastly improved, fuel consumption has reduced and the vessels` handling is superior to anything previously experienced.

COMPOSITE `MINI TURN RUDDERS

In order to reduce weight and simplify the production of Rudders Wills Ridley have been experimenting with this type of manufacture. Now under stringent tests to prove the integrity, reduction of drag and fast boat application up to 50 knots. Market availability in the next few months is expected.

SUPER SILENCED ELECTRO HYDRAULIC POWER PACKS
Ultra quiet Power Packs are fitted with sound absorbent panels. The power on demand, Axial Piston, Hydraulic Pumps and Programmable, Proportional Solenoid Valves, compliment the compact, functional design and assist to reduce noise. Leak Tray. In dual systems they are automatically controlled such that if one, for any reason fails, then the other can take over control of both rudders.

WORLDS LARGEST
“Mirabella V” 75m Sloop is fitted with advanced electro-hydraulic full follow up steering system, which fully integrates with autopilot to control the electrically synchronised rudders. The three wheel operated steering stations are designed to pick up control without the current rudder angle being affected. The faster the wheels are turned the faster the rudders move. A rudder toe in / out feature was provided. The two Super Silenced Power Packs were fitted with a special control system to minimise noise and to soften all hydraulic component movements.
